2009 Testimonials
Hi I don't know where to start it truly was the best day of our lives! SERIOUSLY!! I am so sad to be home and back to reality, it was just perfect!
Firstly, when we got there we called everyone on our list and all was fine, I left the minister a message and she called me back the next day, she is just wonderful, she helped us on so many things not just the wedding so it was good to have a New Yorker at hand for help, she is a great girl.
The weather was great, cold but sunny so can't complain! The day of the wedding the flowers arrived at 1pm and they were totally stunning, everyone commented on them, and the went so well with our outfits.
(After the ceremony) we headed to the Waldorf Astoria for a champagne toast since we had an hour or so to spare and that was lovely, we didn't book, just walked into Sir Harry's Bar and ordered, then from there we got taxis to the pier, the boat trip was amazing, everyone was stunned at the breathtaking views and the whole boat fell silent and just looked out the windows!
The restaurant was again, fabulous, the staff were fantastic, the dinner was the best I have ever had and the whole table agreed, we had steak on the menu and the guests thought it was perfection.
From there my Dad and best man had ordered 3 limos to take us back to Manhattan and we went to the Ava Lounge on 55th St, it also was fabulous, we had laid on a free bar which was $25pp for 2 hours, and for NYC that's a great price, it had stunning vies of Times Sq, it topped off a perfect day.
I just want to thank-you from the bottom of my heart for creating such a magnificent day, I have run out of expressive words to use, it was just amazing and a day we will never, ever forget. Oh, almost forgot, the photographer and minister were both fab. I have already been suggesting your company to a few people who have expressed an interest in getting married in NYC because you do such an amazing job, again thank-you. We are forever indebted to you for your beautiful work

Hi,
I apologise for the delay in my response. We got home last Wednesday but it has been a little hectic since. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much for your assistance in helping everything go so smoothly for our big day.
We were extremely happy with your service and we have left positive feedback on the Wedding forum ‘who's getting married in New York '.
I used Gorgeous Bride New York for hair and make up (http://www.gorgeousbrideny.com/). They were excellent and I would definitely recommend them. They were a little pricey but you get what you pay for I suppose.I contacted a few firms prior to making the booking. Some did not reply and some were very clipped in their response. Maya, the owner of Gorgeous Bride, emailed back very quickly and the first line of her email was ‘congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!'. I got a good feeling from this and, thankfully, I was right! They were brilliant. On the Thursday I had a hair and make up trial with Tanya at the Gorgeous Bride office. She was a lovely person who put everyone at ease and, as it turns out, she was also a miracle worker! She made everyone look amazing!
The minister who performed the wedding ceremony, David, was excellent. The service lasted about 25 minutes and David said some lovely words and prayers. Afterwards, we got back into the cars and were taken to Central Park for the pictures. Our photographer was great. He was very funny and knew all of the places to go in the park for good shots. As we walked through, people clapped and cheered and shouted congratulations. It was fabulous.
Getting married in New York was the best thing that we have ever done! It was like a wonderful dream that lasted for a week.
Many thanks for all of your help.
Best wishes

We have found that you have been a great support throughout our planning for the wedding. Compared to other companies/websites,big apple weddings have had more local knowledge and information about New York, the process and different locations to get married.
This is why we chose big apple weddings. Our day could not have been more perfect, the wedding package had everything we needed (and more) and all the people involved were very professional, helpful and kind.
Our minister was amazing, she made our service personal to usand made it very relaxed and enjoyable. The location was also beautiful and everything we expected. The only thing that Big Apple did not prepare for us was the weather (which thankfully was perfect also!).
The photographer was excellent and very funny which helped our photos to look more relaxed and natural, we have hundreds of photos to choose from.
We were quite apprehensive about getting married abroad and organising it over the internet but we found it to be easier, cheaper, and a lot less stressful than it would have been if we had got married at home. Big Apple Weddings answered allour questions and if they couldn't help us directly they would either find out or point us in the right direction.
I would recommend getting married with big apple weddings to everyone. There is a perfect spot for every couple and big apple weddings will do as much or as little as you want them to, giving honest opinions and advice which was greatly appreciated. If I could do it all again I would change nothing.
Thank you so much

We had a good time in New York. Everything went according to plan - even the weather, as the sun shone on our day despite it being the coldest and wettest June in NYC on record.
The minister was excellent and conducted a very moving and dignified ceremony.
We would recommend anyone marrying in Central Park to take a horse carriage to their rendezvous point - we had waves and cheers all the way!
We also had a great lunch at The Boathouse.
All in all, a magical experience; if they asked us to do it again tomorrow we would!
Thanks for all your help.
Best wishes

Hi,
Where do we start??!! WOW WOW WOW!! We arrived at the Bentley Hotel (500 East 42nd Street) and were upgraded to a suite, we advised them of our pending wedding, from there we received Champagne & a note of congratulations delivered to our room! On the day of the wedding they arranged & delivered a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers to our room, organised the cabs to the World Yacht and kindly hid my dress from peering eyes.... We met the coordinator as planned on the Monday, she advised us that she needed to attend the Clerk's office and would kindly escort us there. On our way to the office she was giving us tips for our stay. She went through the timings for the wedding day & set our expectations. Arrived at the Clerk's office and we had a short wait (30 mins) until our documents were processed.
On the morning of the wedding we (the girls) went to Blow Bar (Lexington Avenue) to be preened & pampered. Back at the Hotel, to where our bouquets had been delivered, beautiful!! Changed and on our way to the World Yacht. The weather on the Wednesday was disappointing (heavy rain) but nothing was going to dampen our spirits. I arrived at the Yacht, went on-board with my Dad & bridesmaid to where the rest of the wedding party were waiting. The minister was lovely, his ceremony was spot on!!! Not too short & not too long - just perfect!! Vows were completed, Mr & Mrs Dixon were announced & congratulations were being offered by our friends & family at which point our photographer was snapping.
The ceremony & pictures completed and we were seated at our table. At this point the Manager kindly congratulated & welcomed us on-board and advised us who our waitress would be. The waitress introduced herself and offered us drinks. The food was outstanding! The DJ (Sammy)was brilliant, advising us that he would be happy to play any requests, at which point Paul requested our first dance. We then went to the upper deck to find the rain had cleared & left us with the most amazing sky! A short while later, Sammy came looking for us to advise that he would be playing our first dance in a short while. The moment we hit the dance floor for our dance the whole boat erupted in cheer, people were photographing us!?! Our dance had finsished to a huge applause! Back on the upper deck and the other World Yacht guests were making such a fuss over us (well I should say the ladies were going crazy for the boys in Kilts......). Guests were asking to take our photographs & if they could get photographs with us in them- it was surreal - almost as if we were famous....... In addition, everyone & we mean everyone congratulated us! Back to the docks, we didnt want to leave the boat...... we managed to get a limo for the 11 of us back to Times Square for approx $8pp - bargain! The Photographer - Matt was FANTASTIC, his pictures are amazing - we would highly recommend him to any couple getting married in NYC, he is reliable, reasonably priced, a really top bloke who gave us an outstanding wedding album! Highly recommend both the Bentley Hotel & New York Blow Bar, we were treated like royalty!! Thanks to the wedding coordinator, World Yacht and last but not least the staff & guests who treated us like royalty.
Finally, last but by no means least - Debbie & Steve, thank you so much for everything you done for us! No words can sum upexactly how we feel about the day, but it would be suffice to say "A truly spectacular day, a dream come true" . We cannot wait for our1st anniversary to return to the City that never sleeps!! Thank you again
The new Mr & Mrs Dixon
Hi
We could not have asked for anything more from Big Apple Weddings-they were fantastic from the initial booking right the way through to the actual wedding and were always no more than a phone call or e-mail away!
Their knowledge of New York was excellent and their personal contacts proved invaluable, particularly when poor weather threatened to interrupt proceedings! Our fabulous minister stepped in to organise an alternative venue as well as offering advice on a range of other matters.
The Harbour Restaurant was delightful, our food and service were both superb and well worth the money!
Our photographer was yet another Big Apple gem who kept both us and our guests entertained with his witty banter and then proved himself further by sending our gorgeous photographs to us very quickly on our return to the UK!
We wish we could do it all again but without a doubt if we were to, Big Apple would be our first contact!
Kind regards
Victoria & Anthony Clark
Hi
We've just got back from our honeymoon and wanted to get in touch as soon as we could to say thank you so much for organising such a beautiful wedding!
We would certainly recommend your services and we were always impressed with how prompt and friendly your replies were to any queries we had throughout the planning process.
When we got to New York we had no problem in contacting the suppliers as you suggest and everything just went so smoothly. We spoke to the minister first. She is lovely and put us at ease straight away. She suggested that we might still like to marry at Ladies Pavilion as we'd first planned.
We went to view the site and immediately knew we wanted to have the ceremony there as we were sure that the work that was being carried out would not affect the service or photos, which it didn't.
On the wedding day the flowers arrived at our hotel 3 hours before. They were gorgeous and even better than I'd expected! We got a limo to take us to central park. We arranged it that morning through our hotel (the wellington) and as there was 11 of us, at $50 worked out cheaper than taxis.
The minister and our photographer met us at the entrance the park. The photographer was great and we had fun with him from the beginning! He started taking informal shots straight awaywhich has meant we have a fantastic minute by minute record of what actually happened.
The minister did a beautiful service which she personalised by including our children and speaking in a way that they understood. We were really delighted with it and was just what we'd wanted. Afterwards the photographer took some 'formal' pictures with the lake and skyline as the backdrop.
The photograph disc arrived from within days and we have about 230 superb pictures that have totally captured the mood day. The pavilion was such a picturesque setting for our wedding and we were glad we had chosen to marry there.
Thank you so much again for helping us have such a great day that everyone will remember. When we get the disc back off family we'll send some photos that you can use on the website if you wish.

Hi
Sorry we haven't been in touch sooner, we only arrived back home last week. We had a wonderful day and thanks to Paula managed to hold the ceremony at the pavilion.
The photographer was a lot of fun and has taken some great shots. The cruise was a perfect way to end the day and was excellent value for money. We are just ploughing through the photos now so will try and send you a few pics for your website as soon as possible.
Thanks for all your help.
Cheers for now,
Steve & Vikki Bielby

Hi
We are finally home and are back at work. I would like to say thank you for all of your help in organizing our wedding. Everything went off smoothly and I will also send you through some photos. I would like to however recommend Melissa Jones of the Bellisima Bride http://www.thebellisimabride.com Melissa did my hair and makeup on the day, came to my hotel, was reasonably priced (which included a trial) and did a wonderful job.
Thank you again for all of your help.
Kind regards,
Emma & Alex

Hi
Everything was perfect. Thanks so much for everything and for making the process easier. The flowers were gorgeous. The coordinator was lovely and really helpful and the minister was incredible and gave a lovely ceremony. The lady I used for hair and make-up was Elena Giannini from FaceDiva (www.facediva.com). She was really nice, did an excellent job and wasn't as expensive as a lot of the other stylists and artists I contacted (US$250 for me and $175 for my mum).
I've attached a few pics and will send another e-mail with a few more. Thanks once again for everything.
