A few of our Testimonials

Hi

Here are some of the pics from the wedding which we are more than happy for you to use for the website.

We would both like to say how wonderful the minister was from the first conversation on the phone to the kind and wonderful words she used to capture the mood and feeling of the wedding were spot on. The flowers were beautiful and everything ran as smoothly.

I would have no hesitation in recommending your company to any friends who wanted to get married in New York.

Kind regards

John & Julie

Hi,

We had a fabulous time and the minister was very helpful in the run up to the ceremony once we had arrived in New York. We found the process of obtaining the marriage licence very easy - we were in the office less than 5 minutes.

We have attached a few photos for you. Please could you forward our thanks and the photos to the minister.

Thanks for all your help

S-J & Pete

Hello Big Apple Weddings!

We would like to thank you very much for all your help; it really was the wedding of our dreams.

We were married at belvedere castle, central park. The location you recommended was absolutely beautiful.

We arrived on the previous Monday and we stayed at On The Ave hotel (W77th street). Our first port of call was the city clerk's office to get our marriage license. We were quiteoverwhelmed at this stage as neither of us had been to the city before and the sights were breathtaking!

We purchased amobilephone ($35 & credit) as you just don't know when you will be in the hotel to receive the calls from the minister, photographer etc!!!! All of the suppliers contacted us promptly and couldn't be more helpful.

The minister phoned us a few days before the big day and we had an in-depth chat about the service and ran through all of the details, her suggestions were fantastic and the day would not have been the same without her!!

The flowers were beautiful and were delivered promptly to the hotel. The weather was fantastic so the wedding party enjoyed a very pleasant stroll through central park to the castle where we were met by the photographer, who was a lot of fun! We were soon joined by the ministerwho ran us through the order of the day and was very reassuring, while the bride, her father and bridesmaid made their way to the park in a yellow cab!

The service was perfect for us and even better than we could ever had hoped. The photographer then took our photographs and his direction was superb. Our hotel concierge helped us organise fantastic transportation (a stretch limousine and luxury 4x4!!!) from the park to Compass restaurant (W70th street) for our wedding meal. We had our own private area which seated up to 18 people, The Champagne Room, where the meal was out of this world and the drinks package was very reasonable. We then partied the night away in The West Branch cocktail bar which is adjacent to On The Ave hotel.

We would like to thank Debbie and Steve again for a wonderful wedding package and wish them all the best for the future, we would highly recommend Big Apple Weddings!!

P.S.

We will send some photos when we receive them!

Hi Steve and Debbie,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you both so much as we had themost amazing time. Our weddingday was just how we wanted it, relaxed and intimate. As we had our children with us our minister was first class. She offered so much support and even informed us of places to bring the children on our visit. On the day of the wedding she was fantastic and wecouldn't and wouldn't have asked for more.

Kevin, our photographer was fabulous, myself, Declan and our wedding guests found him hugely entertaining and made us all feel at ease. I am very pleased and impressed with the quality and selectionof photographs.

The whole experience was amazing and oneI will treasure. I found Big Apple Weddings have provided an excellent service and followed through on everything they said they would. All the information given to us before we left for NYC was extremely helpful and I would have no problem in ever recommending Big Apple Weddings because what we wanted was exactly what we got!!

Thank you from the new

Hi Steve,

I'm really sorry I have been so busy after our 3 week honeymoon. Needless to say we had a wonderful day and everything ran very smoothly, the minister was fantastic and she really made us feel very special on the day, I think that you run a fantastic operation with Big Apple Weddings.

I cannot thank you for all of your help and support I really felt that you had my back in the organisation and in New York.

Warmest regards,

Caroline & Phelim

Hi there,

First of all many many thanks, for organizing our wedding, I was so pleased how everything turned out, you couldn't ask for any better it was perfect, and stress free. The minister and the photographer were amazing; the flowers where lovely and they arrived in plenty of time and I was very pleased with them.

I went to Elizabeth Arden on 5th Avenue to get my hair done, which I was pleased with however it is very expensive, I booked an appointment from here so I was aware of the price, the good thing was, when you are getting your hair done there is a makeup artist there who does "touch ups" for free and when I told her I was getting married she done a full makeover free and if I had booked it, itwould have cost me an extra $80.00; I was delighted with the makeup and hair. The reception on the boat was fantastic the meal was brilliant, well worth the money.

I would highly recommend you and your company to anyone planning to go to New York to get married.

Thank you so much

Eileen and Del

We had a wonderful time thank you. We would be happy to give you a picture for your website and write a short blog if you wish, With regards to recommendations, I would highly recommend the New York Palace as a place to stay they certainly made sure everything was in order to assist us on our day even using the house (Rolls Royce Phantom) car free of charge! I'll be in touch when we have had the opportunity to look at the photos

Marie & Jonathan

Thank you so much for organizing our dream NYC wedding. Everything went like a dream from fielding endless questions to keeping in touch every step of the way. You were true professionals.

Thank you

Gina & Darren

Safely back in the UK and wanted to email and let you know that we had a great time in New York, so thank you for organising.

Kind Regards

Hi

Just wanted to say a massive thank you for all your help planning our special day. It was truly amazing, and everything we had hoped for. The weather was perfect so thankfully the chapel went unused. All of the services we used were fantastic - the flowers were beautiful.

My bridesmaid and I had our hair and make up done by Sissi Chan - she was brilliant! I don't think anyone would be able to replicate what she did to my hair (everyone thought it was a hair piece!). Shedoes both hair and make up which works out a lot cheaper and was half the price of gorgeous brides new york (who also do both). She also came to our hotel room the day before the wedding for a trial which put my mind at rest. She has also grown up in New York so was able to offer some advice of good places to go on nights out, and restaurants to eat in that the average tourist might not find. I would highly recommend her (www.sissichan.com).We had our reception dinner at the Boathouse in Central Park. We chose it so that the guests could take a leisurely stroll through the park to the restaurant whilst we wentoff and had photo's taken (everyone has commented that this was a good idea as people were not waiting around for us to get back). We had organised for a tab to be set up on the bar, so guests could have a 'welcome' drink on us and gave everyone chance to mingle

To finish the day off we organised a shuttle bus (www.shuttlebusplus.com) to takeus to the roof top bar 230th onfifth (www.230-fifth.com). I had previously had email contact with Patty from the bar who had reserved an area of the roof top for us - there was no minimum or maximum numbers, and no priceper head which was great. Everyone got out of the lift at the top and we were faced with a lit up Empire State building - it couldn't have got any better! We had waitress service in the area, and she was able to set up individual tabs. It was perfect end to the perfect day.I've added a couple of pictures for you...if you want anymore, let me know (i could only fit so many on this email!).

Thanks again

Hi Steve,

We got back from our Honeymoon in California last night.I just wanted to let you know that everything went smoothly, from the flowers onwards.

The Minister was wonderful. She really made the day special for us. We thought the ceremony would be almost transactional but she put a lot of thought into it made it very sincere and moving.

The photographer was brilliant. She was friendly and helpful but always unobtrusive whilst helping us get the best out of the day. It was an enjoyable coincidence that she was born in Reading and lived in England as a child too.

Finally, we thank you for making things possible for us at such short notice. You must work some strange hours to do all of the liaison but however you did it, we appreciated it and will happily recommend you to anybody we know who is thinking of doing the same thing.

Very best wishes,

Ged & Paula

Hi

I don't know where to start it truly was the best day of our lives! SERIOUSLY!! I am so sad to be home and back to reality, it was just perfect!

Firstly, when we got there we called everyone on our list and all was fine, I left the minister a message and she called me back the next day, she is just wonderful, she helped us on so many things not just the wedding so it was good to have a New Yorker at hand for help, she is a great girl.

The weather was great, cold but sunny so can't complain! The day of the wedding the flowers arrived at 1pm and they were totally stunning, everyone commented on them, and the went so well with our outfits.

(After the ceremony) we headed to the Waldorf Astoria for a champagne toast since we had an hour or so to spare and that was lovely, we didn't book, just walked into Sir Harry's Bar and ordered, then from there we got taxis to the pier, the boat trip was amazing, everyone was stunned at the breathtaking views and the whole boat fell silent and just looked out the windows!

The restaurant was again, fabulous, the staff were fantastic, the dinner was the best I have ever had and the whole table agreed, we had steak on the menu and the guests thought it was perfection.

From there my Dad and best man had ordered 3 limos to take us back to Manhattan and we went to the Ava Lounge on 55th St, it also was fabulous, we had laid on a free bar which was $25pp for 2 hours, and for NYC that's a great price, it had stunning vies of Times Sq, it topped off a perfect day.

I just want to thank-you from the bottom of my heart for creating such a magnificent day, I have run out of expressive words to use, it was just amazing and a day we will never, ever forget. Oh, almost forgot, the photographer and minister were both fab. I have already been suggesting your company to a few people who have expressed an interest in getting married in NYC because you do such an amazing job, again thank-you. We are forever indebted to you for your beautiful work

Emma and John Paul Whyte

Hi Steve,

Thanks for your email - just got back from our honeymoon today. Thanks for your help in organising the wedding for us- getting married in NYC was a nice experience and would happily recommend it toother couples thinking of getting married in the States.

Kind regards,

Hi,

I apologise for the delay in my response. We got home last Wednesday but it has been a little hectic since. We had a wonderful time. Thank you very much for your assistance in helping everything go so smoothly for our big day.

We were extremely happy with your service and we have left positive feedback on the Wedding forum ‘who's getting married in New York '.

I used Gorgeous Bride New York for hair and make up (http://www.gorgeousbrideny.com/). They were excellent and I would definitely recommend them. They were a little pricey but you get what you pay for I suppose.I contacted a few firms prior to making the booking. Some did not reply and some were very clipped in their response. Maya, the owner of Gorgeous Bride, emailed back very quickly and the first line of her email was ‘congratulations on your upcoming wedding!!'. I got a good feeling from this and, thankfully, I was right! They were brilliant. On the Thursday I had a hair and make up trial with Tanya at the Gorgeous Bride office. She was a lovely person who put everyone at ease and, as it turns out, she was also a miracle worker! She made everyone look amazing!

The minister who performed the wedding ceremony, David, was excellent. The service lasted about 25 minutes and David said some lovely words and prayers. Afterwards, we got back into the cars and were taken to Central Park for the pictures. Our photographer was great. He was very funny and knew all of the places to go in the park for good shots. As we walked through, people clapped and cheered and shouted congratulations. It was fabulous.

Getting married in New York was the best thing that we have ever done! It was like a wonderful dream that lasted for a week.

Many thanks for all of your help.

Best wishes

Jennie & Alan Simpson

We have found that you have been a great support throughout our planning for the wedding. Compared to other companies/websites,big apple weddings have had more local knowledge and information about New York, the process and different locations to get married.

This is why we chose big apple weddings. Our day could not have been more perfect, the wedding package had everything we needed (and more) and all the people involved were very professional, helpful and kind.

Our minister was amazing, she made our service personal to usand made it very relaxed and enjoyable. The location was also beautiful and everything we expected. The only thing that Big Apple did not prepare for us was the weather (which thankfully was perfect also!).

The photographer was excellent and very funny which helped our photos to look more relaxed and natural, we have hundreds of photos to choose from.

We were quite apprehensive about getting married abroad and organising it over the internet but we found it to be easier, cheaper, and a lot less stressful than it would have been if we had got married at home. Big Apple Weddings answered allour questions and if they couldn't help us directly they would either find out or point us in the right direction.

I would recommend getting married with big apple weddings to everyone. There is a perfect spot for every couple and big apple weddings will do as much or as little as you want them to, giving honest opinions and advice which was greatly appreciated. If I could do it all again I would change nothing.

Thank you so much

Chris and Siobhan Gainer

Hi

Everything went really well, nice and smooth and the weather was good. The photos are wonderful, the photographerwas excellent and so friendly. I shall send some asap.

Many thanks

Gemma and Joseph Coley

We had a good time in New York. Everything went according to plan - even the weather, as the sun shone on our day despite it being the coldest and wettest June in NYC on record.

The minister was excellent and conducted a very moving and dignified ceremony.

We would recommend anyone marrying in Central Park to take a horse carriage to their rendezvous point - we had waves and cheers all the way!

We also had a great lunch at The Boathouse.

All in all, a magical experience; if they asked us to do it again tomorrow we would!

Thanks for all your help.

Best wishes

Alan & Mary Thomas

Hi,

Where do we start??!! WOW WOW WOW!! We arrived at the Bentley Hotel (500 East 42nd Street) and were upgraded to a suite, we advised them of our pending wedding, from there we received Champagne & a note of congratulations delivered to our room! On the day of the wedding they arranged & delivered a beautiful bouquet of fresh flowers to our room, organised the cabs to the World Yacht and kindly hid my dress from peering eyes.... We met the coordinator as planned on the Monday, she advised us that she needed to attend the Clerk's office and would kindly escort us there. On our way to the office she was giving us tips for our stay. She went through the timings for the wedding day & set our expectations. Arrived at the Clerk's office and we had a short wait (30 mins) until our documents were processed.

On the morning of the wedding we (the girls) went to Blow Bar (Lexington Avenue) to be preened & pampered. Back at the Hotel, to where our bouquets had been delivered, beautiful!! Changed and on our way to the World Yacht. The weather on the Wednesday was disappointing (heavy rain) but nothing was going to dampen our spirits. I arrived at the Yacht, went on-board with my Dad & bridesmaid to where the rest of the wedding party were waiting. The minister was lovely, his ceremony was spot on!!! Not too short & not too long - just perfect!! Vows were completed, Mr & Mrs Dixon were announced & congratulations were being offered by our friends & family at which point our photographer was snapping.

The ceremony & pictures completed and we were seated at our table. At this point the Manager kindly congratulated & welcomed us on-board and advised us who our waitress would be. The waitress introduced herself and offered us drinks. The food was outstanding! The DJ (Sammy)was brilliant, advising us that he would be happy to play any requests, at which point Paul requested our first dance. We then went to the upper deck to find the rain had cleared & left us with the most amazing sky! A short while later, Sammy came looking for us to advise that he would be playing our first dance in a short while. The moment we hit the dance floor for our dance the whole boat erupted in cheer, people were photographing us!?! Our dance had finsished to a huge applause! Back on the upper deck and the other World Yacht guests were making such a fuss over us (well I should say the ladies were going crazy for the boys in Kilts......). Guests were asking to take our photographs & if they could get photographs with us in them- it was surreal - almost as if we were famous....... In addition, everyone & we mean everyone congratulated us! Back to the docks, we didnt want to leave the boat......we managed to get a limo for the 11 of us back to Times Square for approx $8pp - bargain! The Photographer - Matt was FANTASTIC, his pictures are amazing - we would highly recommend him to any couple getting married in NYC, he is reliable, reasonably priced, a really top bloke who gave us an outstanding wedding album! Highly recommend both the Bentley Hotel & New York Blow Bar, we were treated like royalty!! Thanks to the wedding coordinator, World Yacht and last but not least the staff & guests who treated us like royalty.

Finally, last but by no means least - Debbie & Steve, thank you so much for everything you done for us! No words can sum upexactly how we feel about the day, but it would be suffice to say "A truly spectacular day, a dream come true" . We cannot wait for our1st anniversary to return to the City that never sleeps!! Thank you again

The new Mr & Mrs Dixon

Hi

We could not have asked for anything more from Big Apple Weddings-they were fantastic from the initial booking right the way through to the actual wedding and were always no more than a phone call or e-mail away!

Their knowledge of New York was excellent and their personal contacts proved invaluable, particularly when poor weather threatened to interrupt proceedings! Our fabulous minister stepped in to organise an alternative venue as well as offering advice on a range of other matters.

The Harbour Restaurant was delightful, our food and service were both superb and well worth the money!

Our photographer was yet another Big Apple gem who kept both us and our guests entertained with his witty banter and then proved himself further by sending our gorgeous photographs to us very quickly on our return to the UK!

We wish we could do it all again but without a doubt if we were to, Big Apple would be our first contact!

Kind regards

Victoria & Anthony Clark

Hi

We've just got back from our honeymoon and wanted to get in touch as soon as we could to say thank you so much for organising such a beautiful wedding!

We would certainly recommend your services and we were always impressed with how prompt and friendly your replies were to any queries we had throughout the planning process.

When we got to New York we had no problem in contacting the suppliers as you suggest and everything just went so smoothly. We spoke to the minister first. She is lovely and put us at ease straight away. She suggested that we might still like to marry at Ladies Pavilion as we'd first planned.

We went to view the site and immediately knew we wanted to have the ceremony there as we were sure that the work that was being carried out would not affect the service or photos, which it didn't.

On the wedding day the flowers arrived at our hotel 3 hours before. They were gorgeous and even better than I'd expected! We got a limo to take us to central park. We arranged it that morning through our hotel (the wellington) and as there was 11 of us, at $50 worked out cheaper than taxis.

The minister and our photographer met us at the entrance the park. The photographer was great and we had fun with him from the beginning! He started taking informal shots straight awaywhich has meant we have a fantastic minute by minute record of what actually happened.

The minister did a beautiful service which she personalised by including our children and speaking in a way that they understood. We were really delighted with it and was just what we'd wanted. Afterwards the photographer took some 'formal' pictures with the lake and skyline as the backdrop.

The photograph disc arrived from within days and we have about 230 superb pictures that have totally captured the mood day. The pavilion was such a picturesque setting for our wedding and we were glad we had chosen to marry there.

Thank you so much again for helping us have such a great day that everyone will remember. When we get the disc back off family we'll send some photos that you can use on the website if you wish.

Laura, Adrian, Ethan, Charlie & Oliver Reay

Hi

Sorry we haven't been in touch sooner, we only arrived back home last week. We had a wonderful day and thanks to Paula managed to hold the ceremony at the pavilion.

The photographer was a lot of fun and has taken some great shots. The cruise was a perfect way to end the day and was excellent value for money. We are just ploughing through the photos now so will try and send you a few pics for your website as soon as possible.

Thanks for all your help.

Cheers for now,

Steve & Vikki Bielby

Hi thank you so much for organising our wonderful wedding. We are having a lovely relaxing time relaxing on our honeymoon now. Again thanks for your help a picture will be on its way to you soon.

Hi

We are finally home and are back at work. I would like to say thank you for all of your help in organizing our wedding. Everything went off smoothly and I will also send you through some photos. I would like to however recommend Melissa Jones of the Bellisima Bride http://www.thebellisimabride.com Melissa did my hair and makeup on the day, came to my hotel, was reasonably priced (which included a trial) and did a wonderful job.

Thank you again for all of your help.

Kind regards,

Emma & Alex

Thanks so much!

We had a great day... thanks for organising it so well. The minister and photographer were great and the whole thing went very smoothly - just what we were after! Thanks again.

Lissa & Adrian Jones

Hi

Just wanted to say a big thank you for all your help for making our day special. We couldn't have wished for better the sun was shining, the flowers were beautiful and the minister and Marie the witness were lovely.

We are both at work at present so unfortunately we can't attach any photo's for you to see but we will try and do it over the weekend and would be happy for them to go on the website.

Thanks

Wendy and Richard

Hi

Everything was perfect. Thanks so much for everything and for making the process easier. The flowers were gorgeous. The coordinator was lovely and really helpful and the minister was incredible and gave a lovely ceremony. The lady I used for hair and make-up was Elena Giannini from FaceDiva (www.facediva.com). She was really nice, did an excellent job and wasn't as expensive as a lot of the other stylists and artists I contacted (US$250 for me and $175 for my mum).

I've attached a few pics and will send another e-mail with a few more. Thanks once again for everything.

Lisa & Marco

Hi Steve,

Thank you so much for your kind wishes. Apologies for not responding before now, things have been rather hectic since we returned from our honeymoon.

We had such a fantastic day and can't thank you enough for all your help and support during the preparation stages. The whole experience is one that we won't be forgetting in a hurry....

We would also like to say a special thank you to the minister, what a fantastic lady! She made the ceremony so relaxed and fun, it was exactly what we had hoped for and all our guests were most complimentary towards her.....please pass on our sincere thanks if you get a chance.

We have hundreds of photos to sort through.....contributions from friends and family and will send you a few that would be relevant to your website....please bear with us.

I used a hairdressers called the Antonio Prieto Salon at 127 W 20th (between 7th Ave & Avenue Of The Americas) New York, NY 10011 (212) 255-3741. They were brilliant. It's a relatively small salon but contemporary and very friendly.

Anyway, I'm sure I will be in touch again soon with photos for you, thanks so much again, we couldn't have done it without your help.

Megan & John Stokes

Dear Big Apple Weddings

What can I say but the biggest thank you.

My husband and I had the most magical day you can imagine. Everything went smoothly without even the slightest hitch. Paula, the wedding officiate, is a wonderful lady who took the time to perform and ceremony that was so warm and special to us. She is remarkable to have such passion about her job and we feel so lucky to have had her marry us. Kevin the photographer was a dream. Funny and easy going. He was everything a couple could wish for to take their photos. We had such a laugh climbing rocks and going under bridges for photos.

The dinner cruise on the Spirit was just a wonderful way to end the day. We were all up dancing with the staff and manager. The DJ played two songs for us which were lovely. The food was delicious and the sights on top deck took everyone's breath away. The florist did me a lovely bouquet with perfect colour roses and buttonholes for the guests.I'm really sad now the whole thing is over and want to do it all again and again. Everyone who attended said that it would be hard to beat and I have to agree. Thank you again for all the months of emails and support. Could not have done this withoutBig Apple Weddings
